Programs On-Line: Junior Swim Lessons

Classes will be starting the week of January 18, 2016. Member Internet Only sign up starts on December 7th @ 9:00 am (In-person sign ups on December 9th @ 9:00 am). Nonmember Internet Only sign up starts on December 14th @ 9:00 am (In-person sign ups on December 16th @ 9:00 am). Sign up deadline is January 11th, 2016. $5.00 late fee after January 11th, 2016 if space is available. Please check back on the appropriate dates at 9:00 am.

Click on the classes listed below for the days & times available.

Beginner 1 (5-9 yrs)

For students that are new to the pool or fearful or not yet swimming independently.

 

Beginner 2 (5-9 yrs)

For students that are comfortable in the water but still need flotation. Working on basic swim skills.

 

Beginner 3 (5-12 yrs)

A class for students who can swim "doggie paddle" a minimum of 40 ft. (1/2 length of pool). without flotation or help.

 

Express Swimming (13-17 yrs)

Structured workouts in 30 minutes for teen swimmers. Must be able to swim all strokes well.

 

Fitness Swimmer (12-16 yrs)

A structured workout for your teen swimmer. Get in shape and have fun. Not for beginner swimmers.

 

Lifeguard Prep (11-15 yrs)

For swimmers proficient with front and back crawl, working on breaststroke and elementary backstroke. Class includes endurance and an introduction to lifeguard skills.

 

Shallow Water Lifeguard Certification Course

American Red Cross certification course for Shallow Water Lifeguards. Minimum age is 15 years old. Strong swim skills required. Pre-requisite swim includes 100 yd front crawl, timed 10 lb. brick retrieval.

 

Swim Team Clinic (8-12 yrs)

Swimmers in this class are proficient with front and back crawl. This class will focus on breaststroke and butterfly, starts and turns.

 

Swimfants (6 mths-2 1/2 yrs)

Water familiarization at an early age. Parent is required in the water with the child. Parents and child must wear swimsuits. Swim diapers & swimsuits must be worn.

 

Swimfants/You & Me Baby (6 mths-4 yrs)

Water familiarization at an early age. Parent is required in the water with the child. Parents and child must be wearing swimsuits. Swim diapers & swimsuits must be worn.

 

Swimmer 1

Students must be able to swim and do arm circles on front and back for a minimum distance of 40 ft. (1/2 length of pool) This class will focus on front crawl & back crawl.

 

Swimmer 2

Students in this class are able to swim front & back crawl for a minimum distance of 25 yds. This class will focus on elementary backstroke & breaststroke.

 

Swimmer 3

Students in this class should be able to swim front and back crawl, elementary backstroke and breaststroke for a minimum distance of 50 yds. each. This class will focus on butterfly and sidestroke.

 

Toddler Splash (4-5 yrs)

Make a Splash! 30-minute class designed to introduce the basics of swimming without the parent in the pool.

 

Toddler Splash II (4-5 yrs)

Child must have completed Toddler Splash & be confident & comfortable in structured lessons. Students will begin to decrease the need for flotation & focus on learning front crawl basics.

 

Tween Beginner 1 (10-15 yrs)

This class is for students who are new to the pool or fearful, and do not yet know how to swim.

 

Tween Beginner 2 (10-15 yrs)

This class is for students who are comfortable in the water and have some swim skills. This class will focus on front and back crawl.

 

You & Me Baby (2 1/2-4 yrs)

Water familiarization at an early age. Parent is required in the water with the child. Parent and child must be wearing swimsuits. Swim diapers & swimsuits must be worn.

 

Young Toddlers (2-4 yrs)

Previous experience in You & Me Baby is required or recommendation by instructor. Children are in the pool without parents. Limited enrollment.
